RBC Skip Bin Hire – Terms & Conditions
Agreement
By ordering and/or using a skip bin supplied by RBC Skip Bin Hire (“the proprietor”), the customer (“the hirer”) is deemed to have accepted these Terms and Conditions.Weight Allowance
Each skip bin hire includes a weight allowance which will be communicated at the time of booking. Any weight exceeding this allowance will incur additional charges based on the applicable tip fees in the region. The hirer authorises RBC to charge these excess fees to the original payment method once disposal has been completed.Access Requirements
Skip bin delivery and collection requires clear access of at least 3 metres wide and 4.1 metres high. This includes clearance from obstructions such as trees, overhanging branches, power lines, phone lines, and buildings.Placement of Bins
Skip bins cannot be placed on roadsides or footpaths without a valid council permit.
The hirer is responsible for ensuring compliance with council regulations and will be liable for any costs if a bin must be moved from an “unpermitted” location.
RBC can assist with permit enquiries if required.
Responsibility for Waste
The hirer is responsible for all materials placed in the skip bin, including those placed by third parties when the bin is on public land.Delivery & Collection Times
Skip bin delivery and collection may occur anytime between 6:00am and 6:00pm on scheduled days.Loading of Bins
Bins must not be filled above the rim.
Contents must be loaded safely to prevent spillage during lifting, removal, or transport.
The maximum load weight per skip bin is 4.0 tonnes. The hirer must not exceed this limit.
Prohibited Materials
Skip bins must not contain the following:Tyres, televisions, monitors, fridges, microwaves, polystyrene
Asbestos, dead animals, hazardous, flammable, or explosive materials
Car batteries, gas bottles, liquids, paints, or any items deemed unacceptable by RBC or local landfills
Cleanfill Bins
Cleanfill bins are strictly limited to: concrete, rocks, bricks, asphalt, clay, sand, dirt, and ceramic tiles. No other waste is permitted. Mixed waste charges apply if non-cleanfill material is included.Compliance
The hirer must comply with all laws, regulations, and council requirements relating to the use of skip bins.Charges
The hirer agrees to pay:
The hire fee as confirmed at booking, payable prior to delivery
Excess weight charges, if applicable
Charges for extended hire beyond the agreed period
Costs incurred for relocating a bin from an “unpermitted” location
Any debt collection or legal costs incurred in recovering unpaid charges
Liability
The hirer indemnifies RBC against any claims, damages, or losses arising from the use, placement, or misuse of a skip bin.Unrecovered Fees
If excess weight charges cannot be collected retrospectively, RBC reserves the right to require upfront payment for future hires to cover potential disposal fees.Recyclable Materials
Under certain circumstances, recyclable material may need to be sent to landfill (e.g. contamination, processing limitations, or market conditions). If recyclables are contaminated beyond acceptable levels or prohibited items are found in the bin, the hirer will be liable for any resulting additional disposal charges.
